This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why it is collected, and who it is shared with. It applies to deepalibakshi.com and to orders placed through it.

Who is responsible for your data

This site is operated by Deepali Bakshi. For any question about your personal information, or to exercise any of the rights described below, write to hello@deepalibakshi.com.

What is collected

• Order details. When you buy a book directly from this site, your name, email address, phone number and delivery address are collected so the order can be fulfilled and a receipt sent.
• Contact form. Your name, email address, subject and message, so a reply can be sent.
• Newsletter. Your name and email address, if you choose to subscribe.
• Usage and advertising data. Cookies and similar identifiers used to measure site traffic and advertising performance, as described below.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Razorpay. Card numbers, UPI IDs, net banking credentials and similar payment details are entered on Razorpay's own secure interface and are never received, seen or stored by this website. This site retains only the payment reference, amount and status returned by Razorpay. Razorpay's handling of your data is governed by its own privacy policy at razorpay.com/privacy.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

This site may use the following third-party measurement and advertising tools. Each sets its own cookies or identifiers:

• Google Analytics and Google Ads — to measure traffic, to record when a purchase results from an advertisement, and to show relevant ads. See how Google uses this data.
• Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API — to measure the results of advertising on Facebook and Instagram. Where order details are shared with Meta for this purpose, contact details such as your email address are irreversibly hashed before they are sent. See Meta's privacy policy.

Visitors in the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are treated as having withheld consent for advertising and analytics storage unless they grant it, in line with Google Consent Mode. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site remains usable without them.

Newsletter

Newsletter subscriptions are managed through a self-hosted Sendy mailing list. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by writing to the address above. Your email address is not sold or rented to anyone.

How long data is kept

Order records are kept for as long as needed to fulfil the order and to meet tax and accounting obligations. Contact form messages and newsletter subscriptions are kept until you ask for them to be deleted.

Your rights

You may ask for a copy of the personal information held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or withdraw consent for marketing at any time. Requests can be sent to hello@deepalibakshi.com and will be answered within 30 days.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and personal information is not knowingly collected from them.

Changes

This policy may be updated from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.
